PRESIDENTS NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2015

SOLWAY FEDERATION of RACING PIGEON SOCIETIES

NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2015

Following a Management Committee meeting on Monday 12th January this is another newsletter to bring all Federation members up to date with the main decision taken at the Committee meeting.

The Committee decided to keep the Birdage for 2015 the same as in 2014 at 45p per bird.

Due to the Scottish National Flying Club having decided to fly the first inland national from Billerica instead of Buckingham the Committee thought the Federation would be on a better line of flight flying from Marlborough. The decision was taken to replace Buckingham with Marlborough in the old bird programme and the race will be on the 6thJune using the Federation transporter. The Birdage for the Marlborough race will be £1 per bird.

The Federation race from Portsmouth will be duplicated with the SNFC.

The dates for the Federation races were set to tie in with the SNFC programme.

The Federation 2015 Young Bird programme passed at the AGM includes eight races so the Federation Young Bird Open race will be flown on the same date as the SNFC Young Bird National.

The situation regarding the Relief Diver/Convoyer is ongoing with nothing to report at the moment.

Request from four Clubs for additional baskets were considered but the decision on the basket allocation was deferred until the next meeting until the number of members from each club is known.

Application for convoying facilities from Irthing Valley Invitation Club and South West Federation were accepted and everyone co-operation is requested to accommodate these organisations.

The directive from the SHU regarding having to re-do all the Federation loft locations using the SHU Benzing device is still under discussion with the SHU and everyone will be informed of the outcome.

I would like to wish all our members every success in the coming season

M H Goldie

President
