Transporter Basket Discipline 27-04-09

Members are advised that the transporter conveyed 2,150 pigeons to the Appleby race point on 25th.April.This is more birds than were carried at any time during the 2008 season and is both gratifying and encouraging for the welfare of our Federation.

It is hoped that the numbers will increase towards our limit of 2.800 as the old bird season progresses. We have also agreed to convey the birds of The South west Scotland Federation for the old bird season..

To this end members and specifically secretaries are requested to ensure that the convoyer is informed of any spare capacity within their club baskets prior to the transporter leaving their club pick up point on a Friday night. We obviously do not want to get into a position where members are refused space for their birds when there are unidentified spaces in the baskets.

We all hope for a successful racing season with as high a Birdage as possible for every race and I would hope that club officials can co-operate with our newly appointed and very enthusiastic convoyer in this matter.

W. Swanston

President
