On Tuesday 7th September 2010 a cross party committee of the Scottish Government will hold an open meeting on the proposed Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill at 1.30 p.m. in the Buccleuch Centre, Langholm

One of the subjects under discussion will be the question of licenses for managing wild animals.I intend to attend the meeting and if given the opportunity will speak on the question of licenses to manage sparrow hawks around pigeon lofts.So far as I know no local authority has yet issued such a licence.Solway Federation members are reminded that I undertake these tasks on behalf of the Federation and pigeon fanciers in general and any support at the meeting would be appreciated.

Hodgson & Sons of Springfield Homing Club on winning the Scottish National Flying Club race from Clermont on Saturday 17th July. This Blue Cock is the partnerships seventh national winner which is a truly remarkable and outstanding record and has to rank along with the very best in the fancy. Very well done on a tremendous performance.
